Wife, Mother, & Entrepreneur WOW!!!
Its been a while. I know I say that everytime I haven't blogged in a while. I am trying to get better with the whole blogging thing. I have been so busy with everything, family and business. One thing for sure, no one told me how much work being an entrepreneur, mom and wife could be. It takes hard work and determination. I must be built for this otherwise why would I go through so much and it just makes me stronger and want to fight harder. First and foremost, being a wife and mother takes alot energy. I guess that why I love pole dancing so much, it keeps me in shape and feeling young. Either Pole dancing or drugs. I choose Pole Dancing. Mom, can I do this? can I have that? can you play the Wii with me? can we go to the pool? can we go out to dinner? can we go to the movies, bowling or skating? can I? can I?....... Sometimes I want to say, can I get a break? As moms we don't have a chance to take a break, but we must find time for ourselves, whether we just go and sit in the bathroom and lock the door. Some quiet time to reflect on our days and thoughts. I am more creative and effective during the day when I take a moment for myself. I work from home and its summer and my kids are home too. So I'm sure you know what I mean. Being a wife, partner, significant other, etc can be very demanding also. I must spread myself amongst the kids, my husband, and work. My husband like most men needs alot of attention. That's all I got to say about that. You know what I am talking about. And then for some crazy reason I have decided to be an entrepreneur. My business sucks all the other time out of my schedule 365 days a year. There is never a break, always something going on, never a dull moment. Although most people would give up, not be able to handle the pressure, throw in the towel, I refuse to. I know that I have a purpose in life to help others and be successful at it. Body Talk is just one project to get me prepared for all the others. If Body Talk has taught me anything, it has taught me patience. Things sure don't happen overnight. I know that God has much more planned for my family and I. Some things have already been revealed, some things have yet to be revealed. Whatever my purpose, I am ready. I am ready for whatever comes my way. I say to you GOD, Bring It!!!!

The Economy
For those of us who enjoyed the wonderful inauguration of our nations 1st African American President, how did it make you feel. I know it made me feel proud to be living during a time when something like this possible. It has never felt so good to know that we too, can run thiscountry. Barack is the change that American needed. He represents all people, everyone, all nationalities. My family participated in this great historical event by attending the Inauguration in Washington, DC on January 20, 2009. My children were so excited although it was so cold out, that didn't even matter at the time. The looks on the faces in the crowd was enough to make you shout for joy. It was a mixture of all people, young and old. It was an event to attend. Everyone came together as one, race and color didnt' matter.
We have a lot of things to work on this year. As you all know, there has been a major change in our economy these past few years. People who once had it together are finding themselves in a horrible downturn. Families are losing their homes and jobs at alarming rates, small and large businesses are closing their doors. Families are loosing their life savings, and pensions. Its a very hard time in America right now, but we have faith that all is well.
My duty as a small minority business owner is to empower other business owners like me. I make it my business to refer others to businesses that I may or may not be associated with. I enjoy helping others find the products and services they needs, especially within our own community. I would like to see more support from our communities to help keep our businesses open. We as a people are so quick to judge our own instead of trying to work with one another to make things better for everyone. We as a people have to get better with this and regardless if you are a business owner or not, that we make it our business to reinvest in someone who looks like you. All other cultures and races have this down to a science. Its just something we need to work on and master. If we support one another there is nothing we can't do. No need for jealously or hatred towards one another, lets help each other grow. When you plant seeds, you will be rewarded. Its proven, and its being done. Because I am a Business owner and I know the importance of supporting other businesses like mine, I feel very strongly about this. We need to learn that if we see room for improvement within a business, make a suggestion, instead of just speaking negatively about one of your own. You will not see any other race talk about their own kind, even if its something they are not happy with. They just won't do it. They have respect for one another. Until we gain that kind of respect for one another, its always going to be a struggle. I can go on and on, but until next time, make it your business to support another business in your community. Support someone who look just like YOU!!

It's a New Year! Get FINE in 2009!
How was your holiday? Did you get everything you wanted? Did you get that POLE?
I must say, my holidays were great, I spent time with close friends and family.
My kids got the WII and they play it all the time. I think its one of the best gaming systems around.
Let's talk about YOU. Are you meeting your fitness goals? Are you taking time for yourself? Are you giving back to your community? Have you vowed to BE FINE in '09?
This will be a historical year with the inauguration of our nations 1st African American President, many homeowners losing their homes and jobs, many Big Name Companies shutting their doors, the condition of the stock market, and everything else in between. Us, women must remain focused on what it is we want out of life. Although we may be going through this tough time, it won't last always. Let us be proactive, and set ourselves us to succeed. Here's a couple of things I always remember in a time like this:
- Stay clear of negativity! Always remain positive in any situation
- Never let anyone tell you what you can't do, JUST DO IT!
- Write down your goals for 2009 and scratch off the ones you have met (short or long term)
- Take time for yourself by getting massage, mani-pedi, work out at Body Talk of course, eat healthier
Give us some tips that you may have that can help all of us stay on top...
