Manage Your Time, Don't Let it Manage You!

Hello Ladies,

I haven't talked to you guys in a while and I am sorry. I have been extremely busy. Today, I pledge that you will hear from me at least twice a week. Where does all the time go? Do you have the same problem? Trying to juggle the kids, career, and still have time for your health and fitness. I know its hard, but you must take time out for YOU. I am learning to do just that. Sometimes we need to slow down a little and enjoy the moment. You will feel much better. I manage to work out on my POLE at least 30 minutes each day. You can find that time also. Just think about your health, whether you walk, run, jump rope, stretch: do something for your physical self. If you get a minute, no, not if you get a minute, take a minute to pamper yourself. Go and get your hair and nails done, get a massage and/or a facial, read a good book (I am almost done Fabulosity by Kimore Lee Simmons), have lunch at a new restaurant, and have some ME time.

What's up with you ladies? What's going on in your life? Are you working towards your goals? How are the kids? Talk to me.

A little about my kids: My daughter Gem has started her very own Online Cooking Show 4 Kids. Check her out at www.gemskitchen.com She aspires to become a chef: a celebrity chef with her own Food Network Show. My daughter Gewel, is competing in two huge Bowling Tournaments in Georgia during the next few weeks. She had to qualify to be able to compete. She is the BOMB on the lanes. My son Gary is just as wild as he want to be. He is growing up so fast, but he's still my baby. He always tells me he love me everyday. He is so sweet when he wants to be. He aggrevates his sisters but I think thats what he is supposed to do.

A little about business: We have our 3rd Annual Amateur Night coming up at our Body Talk Baltimore location. This is one of the most anticipated events of the year for our ladies. Our ladies will show off their talent amongst their peers. Make sure you get your ticket, they are ON SALE NOW!!!!!

I pray that everyone has a prosperous holiday. Don't forget to THANK HIM for all your BLESSINGS.

Talk to you soon!
Love ya

Yes where does the time go? It's 5am and I woke a little while ago and couldn't sleep thinking of another way of promoting my networking event. Of course I couldn't wait till morning...i would forget what i wanted to say by then, so I stayed up and promised i'll do this one thing then go back to sleep, then i checked this blog... This is where the time goes, running a business, planning an almost 10 year old birthday get together, staying in touch with colleagues, etc. In addition to all of that I assist my friends business as assistant manager. She is expanding and I am very proud of her. In addition to helping her, she helps me too. This is why it it's soooo important for US to SUPPORT each other's business!!!!!!! Don't you know that is the only way our businesses will survive??!! I truly believe by helping others you will move closer toward your blessings....but that's a whole different topic. Hey maybe this will start a new blog discussion. Anyway, my advice to all, "be productive in whatever you spend your time on, but take time for yourself too. The same way that you make sure the kids are fed, the house is clean and bills are paid, have that same passion when it comes to getting things done for yourself. If you can't afford the spa on a regular basis, paint your own nails, relax in your own tub with candles and music, if you work a 9 to 5, take 5 mins at your desk to breathe, it will calm your thinking, better yet don't even think...that's how you end up blogging at 5 am!! LOL! Enjoy your day...going back to sleep for an hour or so...

Oh Ladies! You are so right. I can definitely relate. Do you ever find that having to complete so many tasks SUCCESSFULLY, spreads yourself too thin, to the point where you really don't succeed in your completion at all? Mistakes are made, things are over looked, important people in your life take a back seat? What I find most difficult is trying to keep everyone in your life happy as you complete your goals. My daughter yearns for my attention so much so that she said, "Why do you work so much? I have this much to do while you have thiiiiisssss much to do." (Gesturing the amount of work with widely opened arms) I have my 9-5 career which I adore. But I also have my own business which I do nothing but work on my Denim Line with Vendors from other counties pulling all nighters due to the time difference. I get little sleep. The ironic part is that Body Talk, although a job in itself, is my stress reliever. I love when I have had a tiring day and someone in class has done something they could never do before. That is so rewarding to me. I also love to work off my stress by beating myself up on the pole. If it were up to me, I would never come down from the top. I guess I should look at life that way as well.
I work a lot but you do have to take a second to pull your head out of the realm called Life to appreciate a moment in time. Try sitting in the park with the kids on a sunny day, lean your head towards the sky with closed eyes and breathe deeply or choose a day to do nothing at all. You have to allow yourself to replenish whatever it is you have burned out.
There is so much positive energy around me as well as a vast amount of motivated ladies who are great sources to fellowship and say "Hey, I had a crazy day". That could spark a discussion where you could learn how to deal with your busy day the next time around. With that said, don't forget to lean on your sisters. Your friends are there for a reason.
And lastly, remain positive when managing a busy life. Try to always look at life wtih a glass half full mentality. Positive energy begets positivity. You will find when remaining positive, you will become a magnet for positive things.
Keep love in your heart and positive thoughts in your head, everything else will follow. See you at the top of the Pole!

It seems like my pleas for a 25th hour are going unheard...so I have to make do with what I have :-) If only I could manage the things that I REALLY have control over instead of everything that's out of my power, I wouldn't spread myself so thin. That's the superwoman in me. However, these past few months I have been learning to let go AND I've even learned how to ask for help!!! I don't know everything, I can't do everything, and you know what?? I'm ok with that. Life is too short to drive yourself crazy with the things that you can't help. So I'm taking that energy and putting it into a fabulous routine that I hope everyone will enjoy on Amateur Night!
Having said that, Arnel, I cannot tell you enough how proud I am of you and how grateful I am to be part of such a wonderful family. Body Talk has really been one of the best experiences for me and I really appreciate the support and the friendships that I made since being a dedicated student. YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!!! <3

I am so busy some days that I feel if I didn't accomplish everything I was supposed to or think I was supposed to, I feel like "What did I do today?" I have had to learn to be happy with what I did accomplish instead of being disappointed when I don't accomplish everything. I hope that made sense. Anyway, I am fastly approaching the opening of our new studio and it's exciting as well as scary. Just to think, I am trying to create a business that will be around for a long time. So many questions are running through my head, "will our classes be what I want them to be?" "will the ladies love the facility?" "what more can I offer to my clients?" "what are the ladies looking for?" etc. There are many challenges, but I will remain strong. If I told you what I had to go throught just to get a business license for our new studio, you would not believe me. Oh but GOD is good, I got my business license today. GO Body Talk!!!! I have such a long road ahead but I am looking forward to it; the challenges, the ups and downs, meeting new and exciting people, and sharing my love and experiences with anyone I can. Body Talk is my baby and I see so much for this business, so many more things outside of the dance studio. I have BIG plans, and I know I can only get there with the help of positive people in my life. Like you said Bridget "Ask for help" I am learning to do just that. Mad shout outs to all those who help me to the upmost (you know who you are) If it weren't for you, I don't know what I would do because I can't do it all. What I can do is Press On, and everything will be JUST FINE. I know it not going to be easy, and if it was, everyone would be doing it. Thanks for the positive support that I have received thus far. I hope that I am planting something in the lives of others as well.

Love Ya
